Year One:
What it Proved
Last year, Blue Roses Project took a leap and launched our first-ever Playwright’s Development Retreat with Red Tide, Dom Martello’s powerful two-hander about trans life on the Gulf Coast.
Because of your support, we were able to select Dom’s play from 100 submissions and brought it from the page to a full public reading with an incredible director, cast, and dramaturg.
Since working with Blue Roses Project, Red Tide has had a second reading in Brooklyn; Dom received the Parity Development Award for their new play, Freya; and made their Broadway debut in Dog Day Afternoon.
"BRP took a chance on me, not only giving me an incredible opportunity to develop my work, but also gave me visibility in a way that proved to other producers that my work is, and that I am, worthy of investing in."
